La Liga President Javier Tebas criticized Real Madrid after the referee scandal

La Liga President Javier Tebas sharply criticized Real Madrid after the royal club's scandalous decision to boycott all official events before the Spanish Cup final against Barcelona (April 26), including the press conference and traditional photo session, reports TUT.AZ.

According to available information, the "whites" thus expressed protest against the referees who had previously criticized the club television of the Spanish giant.

"This is not football, this is power management. He doesn't like Tebas because he doesn't do what he wants. He doesn't like Ceferin because he doesn't do what he wants. He doesn't like Luzan because he doesn't do what he wants. He doesn't like TV commentators because they don't say what he wants. They don't want progress in refereeing reform because it's not what he wants. And now, after statements from referees tired of constant attacks from Real Madrid's club television, he responds as he knows how:

Refuse to attend the press conference. Skip training. Refuse to participate in official events before the Cup final. Not attend the Cup final. What thin skin. He doesn't protest, he pressures. He doesn't complain, he threatens. He doesn't agree, he punishes. He doesn't want to improve football, he wants his own football. And the most serious thing is not that he tries. The most serious thing is that many allow him to do this, agree with him and help him," Tebas emotionally stated in his account on social network X.

Earlier at the pre-match press conference, the chief referee of the final, Ricardo de Burgos Bengoechea, could not hold back tears while talking about criticism from Real Madrid's television: "When your child comes home in tears because at school his father was called a thief, it's very hard." The VAR referee Pablo Gonzalez Fuertes previously promised serious consequences for a video on Real Madrid TV. The Madrid club's television released a resonant video criticizing the appointment of Ricardo de Burgos Bengoechea for the Spanish Cup final, pointing out a number of referee errors in favor of Real Madrid's opponents.

The Madrid club also demanded that the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) open a disciplinary case against the referees and called on the president of the referees committee, Luis Medina Cantalejo, to publicly condemn their statements.

Real Madrid is convinced that the referees were "unprepared" to officiate the final and demonstrated clear "hostility" towards the club.
