Bloody attack by ADF militants in Congo: more than 40 dead, including people praying in church
A brutal attack by extremists from the "Allied Democratic Forces" (ADF) group has shocked the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. On the night of July 27, militants stormed the village of Komanda in Ituri province, where they carried out a real massacre. According to Congolese radio station Okapi, 43 civilians fell victim to the attack, with 20 of them being coldly murdered right during night prayers at the local church.
In addition to the mass killing, the extremists caused havoc in the village — they set fire to several public buildings and private homes, leaving destruction and chaos in their wake.
Currently, DRC government troops, together with units of the Ugandan army stationed in Ituri province with the consent of the Congolese authorities, have launched a large-scale operation to locate and neutralize the militants.
