Nutritionists reveal the main mistake of New Year's feast: why you shouldn't sit down at the holiday table hungry
Well-known nutritionists Elena Perez and Maria Hernandez Alcala, in a conversation with the popular publication Hola, revealed a critical mistake that many people make on New Year's Eve. The experts strongly recommend not starting the holiday feast on an empty stomach.
The specialists explain that if a person abstains from food all day before the New Year's celebration, at the table they begin to eat too quickly and unconsciously. Such behavior inevitably leads to unpleasant consequences for the digestive system - bloating and a feeling of heaviness appear, which can seriously spoil the holiday.
Perez and Alcala emphasize that fasting before a feast causes other negative effects as well. Among them - increased anxiety, uncontrolled cravings for unhealthy foods, and even the risk of developing unhealthy eating habits in the long term.
"It is recommended to maintain a balanced diet throughout the day so that in the evening you can enjoy food without overeating," the nutritionists advise, suggesting a sensible approach to holiday treats.
