The doctor revealed the reason for ice-cold feet in hot weather

Cold hands and feet may not warm up even in the peak of summer heat — and the reasons lie in the peculiarities of the body's own functioning, dehydration, or stress. This was explained by general practitioner Aigul Arslanova.

As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to UfaTime.ru, one of the key factors behind this condition is the thermoregulation mechanism. When the thermometer rises, the body dilates blood vessels and redirects an increased flow of blood to the skin's surface in order to cool down faster. The trade-off is reduced blood supply to the extremities, which is why hands and feet remain unpleasantly cold.

According to the Russian expert, a similar effect is also triggered by a lack of fluid in the body. During dehydration, the blood becomes noticeably thicker, its circulation worsens, which leads to a sensation of cold in the hands and feet.

In addition, ice-cold hands and feet may signal chronic stress or a number of diseases, including thyroid disorders.

The specialist recommended closely monitoring fluid intake, avoiding stressful situations whenever possible, and not postponing a visit to the doctor if the problem occurs regularly.
