DEADLY DANGER: HOW SUNSTROKE CAN KILL WITHIN HOURS
Abnormal heat and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can lead to fatal consequences. Sunstroke is a critical overheating of the body, during which the body loses its vital ability to control temperature. In particularly severe cases, death can occur in just one to two hours.
When the body overheats, body temperature rises rapidly, and the skin becomes dry and hot. Sweating stops, which leads to serious disruptions in the nervous system. The victim may suddenly lose consciousness, seizures begin, which can subsequently lead to multiple organ failure.
Children, elderly people, and patients with cardiovascular diseases are at increased risk. In high-temperature conditions, their condition deteriorates much faster compared to healthy adults.
The onset of sunstroke can be recognized by characteristic symptoms: intense headache, bouts of nausea, dizziness, and general weakness. Without timely help, the situation rapidly worsens – confusion, disorientation, and in critical cases, a comatose state occurs.
Emergency assistance includes immediately moving the victim to a shaded or cool place, removing excess clothing, and cooling the body with water or wet compresses. It is necessary to provide drinks in small portions and constant monitoring until the medical team arrives.
To prevent sunstroke, it is recommended to avoid being in direct sunlight during peak heat hours, always use headwear, maintain water balance, and carefully monitor your well-being.
