Meta has launched a revolutionary AI video translation feature. The technology not only translates speech but also synchronizes lip movements, preserving the original timbre and intonations of the speaker, reports VC.
Content creators on Instagram and Facebook have received the ability to activate translation right when publishing material with a preview function. If desired, creators can disable both the synthesized audio track and automatic lip movement synchronization. Viewers will see translated videos in their "preferred language" with special Meta AI Translation marking.
At the initial stage, the system only supports translation between English and Spanish. The company promises to expand language support in the future, although specific timelines have not yet been announced.
The new feature is provided free of charge to all Instagram authors. On Facebook, bloggers with at least 1,000 subscribers will be able to use it. They will also have access to detailed viewing statistics by language. Additionally, Facebook has provided the ability to upload up to 20 different audio tracks for a single video.
