Air conditioners in summer: how to cool down without harming your health

According to TUT.AZ, improper use of air conditioners during the hot season can lead to serious health problems, especially when staying under direct flow of cooled air for extended periods.

Medical experts warn that staying under an air conditioner for more than 1-2 hours in a row significantly increases the likelihood of hypothermia, muscle spasms, throat and joint pain. In particularly severe cases, it can even provoke pneumonia. Children, elderly people, and those suffering from chronic diseases are at the greatest risk.

Key points to pay attention to when using an air conditioner:

The room temperature should be maintained within 23-25°C.

The air flow from the air conditioner should not be directed directly at a person.

Every 1-2 hours, the room should be ventilated by letting in fresh air.

Air conditioner filters need to be cleaned regularly.

Specialists also draw attention to the danger of a sharp temperature drop when leaving an air-conditioned room to go outside in hot weather. Such a temperature contrast can cause a real shock to the body, accompanied by dizziness, drop in blood pressure, and other unpleasant symptoms.

Experts recommend adhering to the golden mean when using an air conditioner, maintaining both comfort and health.
