110-year-old Austrian long-liver revealed an unexpected secret of her longevity
Emma Wenda, one of the oldest residents of Austria, celebrated her 110th birthday with great fanfare at a nursing home in Vienna. According to the publication Need To Know (NTK), the long-liver shared the surprising secret of her impressive life resilience.
Born in 1915, Emma trained as a cook before the start of World War II and worked in the service industry for some time. However, in 1940 her life took an unexpected turn — she became a tram conductor and faithfully served in this position until her retirement in 1970.
Emma had a large family with five brothers and sisters. Her husband Josef Wenda passed away in 1969. Despite her advanced age and vision problems, the Austrian long-liver continues to lead an active lifestyle and is particularly fond of audiobooks. Surprisingly, Wenda considers the hardships experienced in her younger years as the reason for her longevity: "During the war, we ate so little, and life was hard and joyless. This toughened my body," she shared.
Emma Wenda's health inspires genuine admiration from those around her. At the age of 102, she successfully underwent hip replacement surgery, and at 103, she had dental implants. According to the long-liver's niece, Emma has always been extraordinarily curious and maintains this remarkable character trait to this day.
