Stas Pieha firmly denied rumors about dementia in his famous grandmother, reports TUT.AZ.
"Today people are asking me some nonsense about Edita, it's complete rubbish. Where [is this information] from? I'm not aware of anything at all. I communicate [with her regularly]," the famous performer emotionally responded in a conversation with gazeta.ru journalists.
Earlier on April 24, the Telegram channel Mash spread alarming information that the 87-year-old Soviet pop legend Edita Pieha allegedly showed signs of age-related dementia and hypertension. According to the channel, the people's artist's health problems were associated with rapid weight gain.
Edita Pieha's assistant Irina also refuted this information, assuring the public that the singer feels "normal," and no deterioration in her condition has been observed.
According to Russian media, the legendary performer currently lives in the village of Severnaya Samarka near St. Petersburg. Despite the fact that the artist lives alone, special staff monitors her health and well-being.
We remind you that Edita Pieha's creative collection includes more than 500 songs, among which are hits such as "Manzherok," "City of Childhood," and many other compositions beloved by listeners. In 1988, the outstanding pop performer was awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the USSR.
