Putin made a decision to create a buffer zone along the border with Ukraine

Russia has begun forming a buffer zone on the border with Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin officially announced the start of this strategic project during a meeting with the government, reports TASS.

The head of state confirmed that the decision to create a protective zone has already been made at the highest level, and the Russian Armed Forces are currently actively implementing the assigned tasks to ensure the security of border territories.

During the meeting, Putin particularly emphasized the need for comprehensive restoration of the affected areas in Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk regions. The primary tasks identified include returning local residents to their homes, restoring destroyed infrastructure, resuming transportation services, launching industrial and agricultural enterprises, as well as providing comprehensive support to entrepreneurs in the border regions.
