The world's driest desert Atacama is covered with snow for the first time in a decade
"Incredible! The Chilean Atacama Desert, the driest in the world, is covered with snow!" - reported the press service of the ALMA observatory in their account on the social network X.
In the published video material, the observatory staff emphasized the uniqueness of the event - such a natural phenomenon has not been observed in these places for a whole decade.
The Atacama Desert is located along the western coast of South America in Chile. It stretches as a narrow strip along the Pacific coast for about 1000 kilometers.
