Baidu is developing a revolutionary AI translator from animal to human

Chinese technology giant Baidu has taken on a task that for centuries seemed impossible - creating a system for translating animal communication signals into human language. As it became known, the company is actively working on an AI translator that could radically change our interaction with our smaller brothers.

South China Morning Post journalists discovered patent documentation for this innovative development. According to the materials found, the system will apply sophisticated machine learning algorithms to comprehensively analyze voice signals, body language, and biological changes in animals, transforming them into messages understandable to humans.

The creators of the technology soberly assess its capabilities - full-fledged conversations in the style of Dr. Dolittle should not be expected yet. Nevertheless, the system will significantly simplify understanding the basic needs of pets: feelings of hunger, discomfort, or the need for the owner's attention. To achieve translation accuracy, complex information will be analyzed - from the intonations of barking to the smallest changes in posture and behavioral patterns of the animal.

It's worth noting that similar attempts have been made before. The most famous example is a Japanese device for deciphering dog barking, which received recognition and was included in the list of outstanding inventions of 2002 according to the prestigious Time magazine.

However, until now, such developments have not overcome the status of curious gadgets with limited functionality. If the Baidu team manages to implement the declared project in full, this could be a genuine technological breakthrough, opening a new chapter in the history of relationships between humans and their four-legged companions.
