Arrested Armenian archbishops will declare a hunger strike

Arrested hierarchs of the Armenian Apostolic Church declared a one-day hunger strike on Constitution Day

"Tomorrow is the Constitution Day of Armenia. In protest against the unconstitutional actions directed against us, we have decided to declare a one-day hunger strike," the statement by Archbishops Michael and Bagrat says.

Recall that on June 18, employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia detained the president and founder of the "Tashir" group of companies, Samvel Karapetyan. He is charged with public calls for the seizure of power. Later, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan (who is also suspected of preparing terrorist attacks and attempting to seize power) and Michael Ajapahyan, as well as supporters of the opposition movement "Sacred Struggle," were arrested on similar charges.
