American senator: Trump is close to reaching an agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Trump on the home stretch to a historic peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Republican Party member, US Senator Steve Daines in his article for The Wall Street Journal stated about an approaching breakthrough in relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia with the mediation of the US President.

"This will be an outstanding achievement - another step towards stability, contributing to regional and international peace, as well as economic benefits that extend far beyond the countries involved," the senator emphasized.

According to Daines, numerous attempts by other countries and international organizations to resolve the conflict have proven fruitless or insufficiently far-sighted. The senator noted that previous US administrations did not consider this region and the peace process as a priority direction.

Daines claims that it is Trump who is contributing to economic growth and strengthening stability both in the region and beyond.

According to the senator, the expected signing of a peace agreement by the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the near future will have a positive impact on peace and stability not only in the South Caucasus but throughout the world.
