Millions of people start their day with an aromatic cup of tea or coffee, continuing to consume these beverages instead of regular water throughout the day. However, medical professionals are raising the alarm: such a habit can seriously harm the body with regular use.
Dehydration that isn't immediately noticeable
The caffeine contained in tea and coffee has a pronounced diuretic effect. This leads to a paradoxical situation: a person consumes liquid but loses it faster than they receive it. Externally, everything looks normal – you regularly drink beverages. However, in reality, gradual dehydration occurs, which imperceptibly undermines skin health, creates additional strain on the kidneys, and worsens overall well-being.
Increased stress on the heart and blood vessels
Excessive caffeine consumption can provoke sharp fluctuations in blood pressure, tachycardia, and even attacks of unfounded anxiety. Especially vulnerable are those who have completely excluded water from their diet in favor of coffee and strong tea. When these beverages are consumed on an empty stomach or in excessive quantities, there is a risk of irritation of the mucous membrane, heartburn, and the development of gastritis. Unlike them, regular water delicately cleanses the digestive tract without causing aggressive reactions.
Lack of beneficial substances
Certain compounds in tea and coffee prevent the normal absorption of vitamins and minerals, primarily iron and calcium. With an imbalance in favor of these beverages and a lack of clean water, a hidden deficiency of nutrients gradually forms in the body, which negatively affects immune protection, bone tissue strength, and energy potential.
Tea and coffee can certainly be components of a balanced diet, but they should not displace water from the daily diet. Clean water is irreplaceable for maintaining temperature balance, normal cell functioning, elimination of toxins, and optimal metabolism. Specialists strongly recommend consuming at least 1.5-2 liters of water daily, even if you are a fan of tea or coffee. Only such an approach will allow you to maintain health and avoid potential risks.
