Tragic incident at Milan-Bergamo Airport: man dies in airplane engine, flights temporarily suspended
As reported by TUT.AZ, the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported an emergency incident at Milan-Bergamo International Airport.
According to preliminary data, an unknown man entered the secure area by breaking one of the doors in the baggage claim area. He then ran directly onto the runway, where he ended up in the path of an Airbus A319 that was preparing for takeoff. The tragedy happened instantly — the man was caught in the rapidly rotating blades of the aircraft engine and died on the spot.
The motives behind the deceased's actions remain unknown. As a result of the incident, the aircraft lost control, but thanks to the pilot's professionalism, they managed to steer and stop the plane in time. All passengers on board were unharmed. The airport administration has temporarily suspended incoming and outgoing flights.
