Sleep doctor warned: popular morning habit can harm health on hot days
According to therapist and sleep doctor Sita Shah, a common morning habit can hide an unexpected health threat, especially during the summer period. In a conversation with Metro magazine, the expert revealed a danger that can lurk in our own bedroom.
The specialist cautions: making your bed immediately after waking up is not the best idea. Shah explains that overnight, sweat and dead skin particles inevitably accumulate on bedding, released by the body along with heat. "In hot weather, this effect is intensified," the doctor emphasizes.
According to the sleep doctor, a hastily made bed becomes an ideal environment for microorganisms and allergens to multiply, creating a warm and humid microclimate under the blanket. To avoid this problem, Shah offers a simple solution: "Leave the duvet cover or sheet folded at the foot of the bed, open the windows, ventilate the bedroom and wait 30-60 minutes."
To maintain sleep hygiene during the summer period, the expert also recommends using bedding made from natural materials, which deals with moisture more effectively, and not forgetting to wash bedding weekly.
