Scientists shocked the world with a statement about the possible death of Earth

According to scientists' estimates, by the end of the 21st century, the Earth's population could reach a dangerous threshold, placing unprecedented strain on natural systems.

As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to aif.ru, researchers from Flinders University have reached an alarming conclusion: by the 2070s, the planet's population could soar to 12.4 billion people. Such a rapid demographic surge, according to the experts, threatens catastrophic depletion of ecosystems and the destruction of the fragile natural balance.

Experts are sounding the alarm: if current growth rates persist, humanity risks facing an acute food shortage even for the current number of Earth's inhabitants. Foreign analysts warn that without a fundamental reassessment of approaches to land resource management, water supply, energy, and biodiversity conservation, the very concept of sustainable development will be called into serious question.

The study's lead author, Corey Bradshaw, cited a specific figure: the optimal population of the planet from the standpoint of ecological sustainability is approximately 2.5 billion people — a level comparable to the mid-20th century. Scientists urgently call on the global community to reconsider global consumption models and principles of natural resource use before it is too late.
