Scientists shocked the world with a statement about the possible death of Earth

According to scientists' estimates, by the end of the 21st century, the Earth's population could reach a dangerous threshold, placing unprecedented strain on natural systems.

As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to aif.ru, researchers from Flinders University have made an alarming announcement: by the 2070s, the number of people on the planet could soar to 12.4 billion. Such a demographic explosion, according to experts, threatens serious depletion of ecosystems and catastrophic disruption of the natural balance.

Experts are sounding the alarm: if population growth rates remain at current levels, humanity risks facing an acute food shortage even for those already living on the planet. Foreign analysts warn that without radical changes in the management of land resources, water supply, energy, and biodiversity protection, the very concept of sustainable development will be called into serious question.

The lead author of the study, Corey Bradshaw, cited a specific figure: the optimal population size from the standpoint of ecological sustainability is approximately 2.5 billion people — a level comparable to the middle of the last century. Scientists urgently call on the global community to reconsider global consumption patterns and approaches to the use of natural resources before it is too late.
