Sensation in space: powerful double explosion shook the far side of the Sun

Russian scientists have recorded a rare astronomical phenomenon on the side of our star invisible from Earth. This was reported by the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Space Research Institute and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Specialists emphasize that direct observation of the event is impossible due to the absence of spacecraft in this sector. Scientists can only make assumptions about the scale of what happened, acknowledging that such activity in this area of the Sun came as a surprise to the scientific community.

The laboratory clarified that three planets - Venus, Mercury and Mars - are still visually observed near the Sun. This creates an optical impression that the ejection of solar plasma is directed towards Venus and Mercury. In reality, these planets are far behind the Sun, on the opposite side from Earth, and the ejected plasma clouds went away from their orbits.

Astronomers also noted that if the sources of this activity persist for a few more days, then as the Sun rotates, they may end up in the direct line of sight from Earth. In that case, the active regions will become visible on the left edge of the solar disk.
