Unexpected turn: American TV host diagnosed with skin cancer live on air
As reported by TUT.AZ, the "Daily Mail" publication told about an unusual case that occurred on American television.
The dramatic moment happened during the morning broadcast of "Fox News" channel, when host Mike Gerrick was talking with dermatologist Joanna Walker. In the midst of discussing skin cancer prevention, the attentive doctor noticed a suspicious spot on the host's arm and decided to conduct an express examination right in front of the cameras.
After examining the formation, the specialist unhesitatingly announced the shocking news: the spot has "all the signs" of basal cell skin cancer – the most common and slowly progressing form of this disease. Seeing the host's confusion, Dr. Walker immediately reassured him, explaining that this type of cancer responds very well to treatment, and the tumor had not yet metastasized.
Stunned by the unexpected diagnosis, Gerrick inquired about treatment methods. The dermatologist explained that surgical intervention would be required to completely remove the formation.
According to available information, the operation to remove the tumor is scheduled for the near future. The TV host himself remains optimistic, approaches the situation with humor, and is confident in a quick return to his normal lifestyle.
