Turkey is shaken by a wave of earthquakes: residents of five regions in panic
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to haberglobal, a series of underground tremors has covered several regions of Turkey at once, causing mass panic among the local population. Istanbul, Bingöl, Kütahya, Amasya, and Muğla found themselves at the epicenter of seismic activity. After a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 points, registered on April 23, residents of the country's largest city remain in a state of continuous anxiety. The alarming situation has been ongoing for almost a month.
Seismic activity has spread far beyond Istanbul – underground tremors are felt in the regions of the Mediterranean, Aegean Sea, and Inner Anatolia. The last significant earthquake with a magnitude of 6 points occurred at night on the coast of Datça in Muğla province. Earth crust vibrations were also recorded in the adjacent provinces.
Experts insist on the need for enhanced monitoring of the seismic situation in the areas of the Marmara and Aegean seas. Of particular concern are the tremors in the waters of the Marmara Sea, indicating the activation of tectonic faults. Specialists emphasize the critical importance of informing the population about safety rules during earthquakes and the need to carefully follow the notifications from official bodies.
Emergency preparedness is becoming a key factor in preventing human casualties and minimizing material damage. Following the recommendations of official sources and timely adoption of protective measures is recognized as the most effective strategy in the current situation.
