US national debt soars to record $33 trillion: America can no longer bear the financial burden of European defense
This was reported in a candid interview with the New York Post by US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
According to him, some states, including Norway and Finland, are already actively increasing their military budgets in response to growing geopolitical challenges. At the same time, other allies — Spain, Canada, and Italy — allocate "catastrophically small" funds for defense needs.
Waltz assured that Donald Trump's team remains committed to supporting European partners both in the military sphere and on the diplomatic front. However, Washington will insistently demand from allies a more equitable participation in financing collective security.
In a conversation with Fox News journalists, the advisor also emphasized Trump's determination to make every possible effort to end the Ukrainian conflict, exerting necessary pressure on both Moscow and Kyiv.
