Trump made a contradictory statement about the possible resumption of conflict between Israel and Iran
As reported by TASS, US President Donald Trump at a press conference in The Hague following the NATO summit unexpectedly admitted the possibility of a soon resumption of military confrontation between Israel and Iran, despite the exhaustion of both sides after recent clashes.
"They are both tired, exhausted. They fought quite fiercely, very brutally, and both were satisfied to go home. Could it start again? I think it might someday. It may start again soon," said the American leader.
Notably, just a few minutes earlier, the head of the White House expressed the opposite opinion: "It was a 12-day war, and we think it's over. I don't think they're going to attack each other again. I don't think so."
Recall that Israel began a military operation against Iran on the night of June 13. Less than a day later, the Islamic republic carried out a retaliatory strike. The US entered the conflict on the ninth day after its escalation: on the night of June 22, American armed forces attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities. On the evening of June 23, Tehran launched a missile strike on Al Udeid, the largest US air base in the Middle East, located in Qatar. Later, Trump announced an agreement between Israel and Iran on a complete ceasefire.
