Unexpected twist: nutritionists debunked the myth about carrots and blueberries for vision, naming a product that is truly beneficial for eyes

Dietitian Emma Derbyshire drew attention to a common misconception about nutrients necessary for eye health. Contrary to popular belief, not carrots and blueberries should be prioritized for maintaining good vision, but ordinary eggs, which are found in almost every refrigerator.

The dietitian emphasizes that eggs are rich in vitamin B2, which plays a key role in maintaining lens transparency. They also contain valuable zinc, necessary for the normal functioning of the retina involved in light perception. This trace element can also be obtained from red meat, oysters, and nuts. Specialists recommend including fatty fish (sardines, tuna) in the diet at least once a week – this has a beneficial effect on the condition of the retina. Consuming whole grain carbohydrates, rich in vitamin E – a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from inflammatory stress – is also an excellent solution.

Experts also advise enriching your diet with leafy greens and fruits that saturate the eyes with necessary vitamins.
