Grossi on the radiation level outside the facility in Natanz

Radiation levels around the nuclear facility in Natanz remain within normal limits, indicating no threat to the population and the environment.

As TASS reports, this statement was made by the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi during an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council dedicated to the escalation of relations between Iran and Israel.

"The radiation level outside the Natanz facility has not changed and remains normal, indicating the absence of external radiological impact on the population or the environment. However, inside the Natanz facility, there is radiological and chemical contamination. Possibly, uranium isotopes contained in uranium hexafluoride, uranyl fluoride, and hydrogen fluoride have spread inside the facility. Radiation, mainly consisting of alpha particles, poses a significant danger when inhaled or swallowed, but this risk can be effectively controlled with appropriate protective measures, such as the use of respiratory devices," he emphasized.
