Breakthrough in negotiations: Ukraine and USA signed a preliminary memorandum

The USA and Ukraine signed a memorandum of intent on a resource deal, a full agreement is expected next week

"Officials said that the memorandum was signed "virtually," and they hope to complete work on a full economic agreement by the end of next week," reports the authoritative British publication Financial Times, citing its own sources.

Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, in her comment to the publication, emphasized the strategic importance of the upcoming document. According to her, the full agreement "will open opportunities for significant investments, infrastructure modernization, and mutually beneficial partnership between Ukraine and the United States."

Financial Times experts assess the signing of the memorandum as a key moment that returns the difficult negotiation process "to the right track" after a period of uncertainty.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that the final agreement between Washington and Kyiv on Ukrainian minerals would be concluded on April 24.
