A revolutionary study published in the prestigious scientific journal Nature Aging presented compelling evidence of the possibility to slow down human body aging processes.
The large-scale scientific project DO-HEALTH, which lasted three years, became one of the most significant studies in gerontology over the last decade. More than 2000 people aged 70 and above participated in the experiment, ensuring high reliability of the obtained results.
Scientists paid special attention to a group of 777 Swiss participants, of whom 59% were women. The average age of volunteers was 75 years. Researchers applied a comprehensive approach including omega-3 fatty acids intake, vitamin D supplementation, and strength exercises.
The most impressive results were recorded in the group taking omega-3. It's important to note that particularly noticeable effects were observed in participants with initially low omega-3 levels in their bodies.
The combined approach showed a reduction in aging rates by 1-4%, which translates to additional 3-4 months of life span over the three-year period. These results open new perspectives in preventive medicine and gerontology.
