In Venice, the grandest celebration of the year took place – billionaire Jeff Bezos tied the knot with Lauren Sanchez
The pearl of the Adriatic became witness to a truly royal celebration – Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose fortune is estimated at 216 billion dollars, and American actress, journalist, and writer Lauren Sanchez celebrated their wedding in the legendary city on water.
The large-scale three-day celebration turned into a genuine social event, capturing the attention of the global public, celebrity guests, and local residents. According to Italian press reports, the bride dazzled in 27 different outfits from leading fashion houses over the three days of celebration. Instead of traditional gifts, the newlyweds asked guests to make charitable donations to social and environmental initiatives. In turn, the invitees received exquisite gift sets with works from Venetian masters, including delicacies from the historic Rosa Salva confectionery and famous Murano glass products.
The governor of the Veneto region, Luca Zaia, estimated the total expenses for the celebration at 48 million euros. Notably, about 80% of all services were provided by local companies, which became a significant contribution to Venice's economy. Five elite hotels in the city were completely reserved for accommodating guests, and approximately one-fifth of all water taxis were utilized.
Italian media report the arrival of about 95 private planes to the city. The star-studded guest list deserves special attention: the Kardashian-Jenner family represented by Kim, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie, and Kris, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey, and Bill Gates.
