Revolution in oncology: cancer survival rates will increase fourfold over half a century. Leading British medical expert shared an optimistic forecast in an interview with the Telegraph.
According to Professor Stephen Powis from the UK's National Health Service, lung cancer incidence will significantly decrease thanks to vaccines that have demonstrated high effectiveness during clinical trials.
"As well as tests that allow identification of the genetic profile of lung and breast cancer tumors, which enables patients to quickly receive individualized treatment plans," he added.
The professor emphasized that modern advances in immunotherapy, drug treatment, and early diagnosis methods already allow for significantly extending the lives of patients with oncological diseases, while maintaining their quality of life and well-being.
