How to protect your heart from diseases in just three minutes?

Just three minutes of movement per day can save the hearts of elderly people

Scientists have proven: even minimal physical activity significantly reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases in the older generation, reports TUT.AZ with reference to the prestigious medical journal Circulation.

Australian researchers conducted a large-scale experiment involving more than 24 thousand people with an average age of about 62 years. All volunteers led a sedentary lifestyle before the start of the study. For accurate measurement of physical activity, participants were asked to wear special accelerometers on their wrists for an entire week.

The data obtained amazed scientists: it turned out that just three minutes of moderate physical activity every day significantly reduced the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other serious cardiovascular problems. Notably, women demonstrated a higher tendency toward spontaneous physical activity compared to men.

Experts particularly note the value of ordinary household chores: cooking, cleaning, and gardening. These simple everyday activities, which most people do not consider as full-fledged physical exercise, can have a noticeable beneficial effect on heart and vascular health in old age.
