Scientists named foods that promote quick falling asleep and quality sleep
Specialists have found that some foods not only don't interfere with sleep but also help the body relax faster before rest. Although it's traditionally recommended to have dinner several hours before bedtime, researchers from the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) discovered an interesting feature of bananas. As reported by The Express, these fruits contain tryptophan – a special amino acid that stimulates the production of serotonin and melatonin, which play a key role in sleep regulation.
Bananas are also a real treasure trove of magnesium and potassium – minerals that effectively relieve muscle tension. Thanks to these properties, they can be consumed either on their own or added to evening smoothies to improve sleep quality.
Almonds also made the list of foods that help with falling asleep. This nut is rich in magnesium, which promotes deep relaxation and improves the quality of night rest.
However, experts warn: even with healthy fruits, it's important to maintain moderation. Excessive consumption can lead to unwanted consequences, including weight gain.
