Chronic headache: how stress and fatigue become the cause of the "hoop effect"
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to "Gazeta.ru", neurologist of the Russian Gerontological Research and Clinical Center of Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Associate Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Svetlana Sergeeva revealed the causes of chronic tension headache.
"This compressive, often symmetrical headache is typically associated with a certain psychotype. It is known as the 'manager syndrome' or 'effective worker syndrome'. When a person is very responsible, conscientiously approaches work or other tasks and suddenly cannot cope with something, they begin to worry," the doctor explained.
According to her, such pain feels like a hoop squeezing the head, it may be accompanied by increased pulse and elevated blood pressure. Patients may experience anxiety, sleep problems and inability to fully recover, Sergeeva warned.
