President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky explained the introduction of sanctions against a number of individuals and organizations, including former presidential office advisor Oleksiy Arestovych. The head of state said that these decisions were due to "propaganda activities in the interests of Russia". The corresponding message appeared in his official Telegram channel.
Zelensky emphasized that the restrictive measures adopted are necessary to "synchronize" pressure on Russia in coordination with the sanctions policy of other states. The President specifically highlighted the fact that Ukrainian citizens were among those subject to restrictions.
"Of these, 7, unfortunately, have Ukrainian citizenship, who have tied their fate to propaganda in the interests of the Russian state and justify the war, carry out active information operations to the detriment of Ukraine and our defense in the war," Zelensky stressed.
Recall that earlier the Ukrainian leader imposed sanctions against the former advisor to the head of his office, Oleksiy Arestovych. In the initial period of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Arestovych was one of the most prominent media figures of the Kyiv authorities, but subsequently resigned of his own accord and left the territory of the country.
