Some foods are capable of simultaneously providing the body with a whole complex of vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial substances. Among them, the specialist highlighted liver, oysters, sardines, watercress, and eggs.
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to the publication Deia, this was shared by dietitian of the football club "Atlético Madrid" Jona Herbolés.
According to the expert, the true record holder in terms of nutrient concentration is liver. It contains vitamins A and B-group, iron, copper, zinc, choline, and complete protein. All of these elements are essential for blood formation, energy production, and proper functioning of the nervous system.
Herbolés also included oysters among natural "multivitamins." This seafood is distinguished by a particularly high content of vitamin B12, copper, and zinc. The latter mineral plays a key role in immune system function and tissue repair.
The dietitian gave a special place on the list to sardines. This small fish combines several valuable components at once — protein, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins D and B12. And if sardines are consumed whole, together with the bones, they also become an additional source of calcium.
The specialist considers watercress and other leafy greens to be an equally important addition to the daily diet. With minimal caloric content, these foods are rich in vitamins K and C, folic acid, and antioxidants.
Rounding out the top five universal foods are eggs. They supply the body with complete protein, as well as a whole range of vitamins and minerals.
At the same time, Herbolés emphasizes: foods with high nutritional value cannot directly replace vitamin supplements in cases where a person has been diagnosed with a deficiency of a specific substance. However, their main advantage is that they allow one to obtain several necessary nutrients at once as part of a regular balanced diet.
