SBU conducted a large-scale operation against the Crimean Bridge
The Security Service of Ukraine carried out a carefully planned operation to strike the Crimean Bridge. According to the agency's press center, preparatory activities continued for several months. According to the information received, SBU officers placed explosive devices on the supporting structures of the facility. The first explosive mechanism was activated at 04:44 local time. The message specifically notes that there were no casualties among the civilian population.
The explosion caused significant damage to the underwater parts of the supporting structures in the area of the bridge foundation.
According to the intelligence service, more than a ton of explosives in TNT equivalent was used for the operation. As a result, the bridge sustained critical damage.
