Two volcanoes in Kamchatka assigned orange aviation hazard code

Klyuchevskoy and Krasheninnikov volcanoes received "orange" aviation hazard code

As reported by TUT.AZ, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Kamchatka Territory announced an increase in the level of aviation hazard for two active volcanoes of the peninsula.

The ash plume from the eruption of Klyuchevskoy volcano (Klyuchevskaya Sopka) is currently spreading in the southeastern direction, while emissions from Krasheninnikov volcano are moving in the northeastern direction toward the Pacific Ocean. Specialists note that there are no settlements in the path of the ash plumes, and no ash fallout has been recorded in residential areas. There are also no tourist groups in the area of active volcanoes.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations strongly recommends refraining from climbing volcanoes and visiting adjacent territories due to increased danger.

The Kamchatka Peninsula is experiencing a period of extraordinary volcanic activity - seven volcanoes are currently awakening simultaneously. On August 3, Krasheninnikov volcano, located in the Kronotsky Reserve, joined the previously activated Avachinsky, Klyuchevskoy, Bezymyanny, Kambalny, and Karymsky volcanoes, and on August 4, Mutnovsky volcano began to show activity.
