Two underground tremors shook the Turkish province of Bingöl
The Emergency Situations Agency (AFAD) under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey reported a series of seismic events in the eastern part of the country.
The first earthquake with a noticeable magnitude of 4.4 was registered just 1.57 kilometers from the Kiğı district. The underground tremors were relatively shallow — the focus was at a depth of 7.02 kilometers, which intensified their impact on the surface.
This was soon followed by a second earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6, the epicenter of which was also located in the Kiğı district. This tremor was somewhat deeper — seismologists determined the depth of the focus to be 11.13 kilometers.
According to preliminary data, there were no reports of destruction or injuries as a result of the earthquake.
