US President Donald Trump sent warm congratulations to Volodymyr Zelensky and all Ukrainians on Independence Day.

As reported by TUT.AZ, the text of the congratulation was published by the Ukrainian leader on the social network X.

"Dear Mr. President, on behalf of the American people, I extend my congratulations and warmest wishes to you and the brave people of Ukraine on the occasion of celebrating 34 years of independence," Trump's message states.

The American president especially emphasized the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people, noting that Ukraine's courage serves as an inspiration to many. "As you mark this important day, know that the United States respects your struggle, respects your sacrifices, and believes in your future as an independent state," he declared.

"The United States supports a negotiated settlement that will lead to a lasting, enduring peace, end the bloodshed, and protect Ukraine's sovereignty and dignity. May God bless Ukraine. Respectfully, Donald J. Trump," the message emphasizes.

In turn, Zelensky expressed gratitude to Trump for the congratulations.

"Dear President Trump, thank you for your sincere congratulations on Ukraine's Independence Day. We appreciate your kind words for the Ukrainian people and thank the United States for standing side by side with Ukraine, protecting what is most valuable: independence, freedom, and guaranteed peace," he wrote on the social network X.

Zelensky expressed hope that by working together, Kyiv and Washington would be able to end this war and achieve real peace for Ukraine.
