Trump stated that Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire

India and Pakistan reached an agreement on a complete ceasefire with US mediation. This was announced by US President Donald Trump on his Truth Social account.

"After a tense night of negotiations with American mediation, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire," the statement said.

The American leader congratulated New Delhi and Islamabad on the de-escalation of tensions. He specifically noted that both sides demonstrated common sense and a high degree of reasonableness in making the decision.

Tensions between the two nuclear powers sharply escalated on April 22. On this day, a terrorist act occurred in the Indian part of Kashmir, which New Delhi blamed on Pakistani intelligence services. More details in the article by "Gazeta.Ru".

In response to this, on May 6, the Indian defense ministry announced the start of "Operation Sindur." The country's armed forces struck nine targets on Pakistani territory, which the Indian side considers elements of "terrorist infrastructure."

On May 10, Islamabad launched a retaliatory military operation called "Bunyan-um-Marsus" ("Solid Wall"). Strikes were carried out on the Udhampur and Pathankot air bases in the Indian states of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as on missile facilities in Punjab. At the same time, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif assured that the country's leadership is not considering the use of nuclear weapons.
