Mother of Amazon founder passes away: Jacqueline Bezos dies at age 78

Jacqueline (Jackie) Gise Bezos, mother of billionaire Jeff Bezos, died on Thursday after a long battle with dementia. The Amazon founder had to share the sad news about the loss of his mother, who was 78 years old, reports the New York Post.

"She grew up too early - when she became my mom at the tender age of 17. It wasn't easy, but she succeeded," the billionaire shared in a touching Instagram post (owner company Meta is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned).

According to the publication, Jackie Bezos was not only the mother of one of the richest people on the planet but also an active philanthropist - one of the founders of the "Bezos Family Foundation," which supports youth, helping "young people to fully realize their potential and make a meaningful contribution to society."

Jacqueline Bezos is survived by her husband Mike, three children - Jeff, Christina, and Mark, eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
