Russia officially recognized the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
As reported by TUT.AZ, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation confirmed TASS information about the recognition of the state.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms," - the diplomatic department laconically noted in response to the recognition request.
Earlier it became known that the flag of Afghanistan, introduced by the Taliban movement, was raised over the Afghan embassy in Moscow for the first time since the movement came to power in 2021.
