Putin and Erdogan will meet on September 1 to discuss the Ukrainian crisis and the Middle East situation
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to TASS, the presidents of Russia and Turkey will hold a personal meeting in China. The public was informed about this by the Russian leader's aide on international affairs, Yuri Ushakov, noting that this will be the first face-to-face meeting of the heads of state this year.
"After our Indian colleague, a conversation with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is planned. The leaders are in constant contact and regularly communicate by phone," Ushakov said.
He emphasized that the agenda of the negotiations will cover both bilateral relations and international issues. The key topic will be the settlement of the situation in Ukraine, where Turkey acts as an important mediator, providing the Istanbul platform for the negotiation process.
The leaders will also focus on the tense situation in the Middle East, the situation in North Africa, and events in the Caucasus.
