Nissan owners in the USA have filed a class action lawsuit against the auto giant due to dangerous door lock defects.
As reported by TUT.AZ, this information comes from Carscoops.
"The litigation affects a wide range of popular models, including the 2013-2025 Altima, 2014-2025 Rogue, and 2013-2025 Sentra. According to the filed complaint, the discovered defect can lead to doors suddenly opening while driving or, equally dangerously, to complete door locking, making them impossible to open," the article states.
It is noted that angry car owners have sent numerous complaints about Nissan to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In one shocking case, a Nissan Rogue crossover owner found herself in a dangerous situation when she couldn't take shelter in her car from a stalker in a parking lot due to a faulty lock. In another egregious incident, a company customer faced complete locking of all four locks while her five-month-old baby was inside. The situation forced the woman to break the window to save the child.
