A new version about the causes of the Air India plane crash has appeared in the information space.
As reported by TUT.AZ, a source from the Indian TV channel News 18 suggested a technical malfunction on board.
"The crash could have been caused by the failure of both engines," the TV channel's report states.
According to information from the News 18 source, the crew managed to send a distress signal to air traffic control after both engines failed. However, the source emphasized that making final conclusions at this stage of the investigation is premature.
Specialists continue a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the air disaster. Earlier, experts considered pilot error or a collision of the aircraft with birds among the possible causes of the tragedy.
Recall that the tragedy occurred on June 12, when the plane crashed in a residential area of India. There were 242 people on board, of whom only one passenger, who occupied seat 11A, survived. The aircraft fell on a student dormitory building, which led to additional casualties - according to preliminary data, 50 students were injured, five died. Videos of the moment of the crash and footage from the disaster site have spread on the internet.
