Tragedy in central France: Deputy Olivier Marleix found dead in his own home

French National Assembly Deputy Olivier Marleix, who represented the right-wing party "The Republicans," committed suicide in the commune of Anet in the Eure-et-Loir department. According to Agence France-Presse, citing prosecutor Frédéric Chevalier, the tragic incident occurred in the politician's electoral district.

The body of the 54-year-old parliamentarian was discovered on Monday evening by a gendarmerie patrol called by the commune's mayor. An official investigation into the incident has already begun.

It is worth noting that before his parliamentary career, Marleix worked as an advisor to President Nicolas Sarkozy during his time in power from 2007 to 2012.
