Historic meeting between Trump and Putin scheduled for the end of next week
According to Sky News, the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will take place between August 11 and 17.
According to an unnamed White House representative, the summit venue is still under discussion. The options being considered include the United Arab Emirates, Hungary, Switzerland, and Rome.
Sky News notes that the details of organizing the meeting and logistical issues are "still unclear and quite fluid." The exact date of the talks between the American and Russian leaders remains unknown, as does the question of possible participation by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The channel's source claims that the Russian side has already presented a list of demands for a potential ceasefire, and Washington is now working to secure support from Ukraine and European partners. Earlier, Bloomberg also reported on the preparation of an agreement to settle the conflict ahead of the Putin-Trump summit. According to the agency, the document may provide for Kyiv's abandonment of some territories, while Moscow would have to stop the offensive in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions along the current front lines. Bloomberg's sources emphasized that the terms of the agreement are not yet final and may undergo changes.
