In Turkey, a large-scale operation took place: mayors of three major cities detained
Turkish law enforcement conducted a high-profile special operation, during which the heads of three municipalities were detained: the mayor of Adana Zeydan Karalar, the mayor of Antalya Muhittin Böcek, and the mayor of Adıyaman Abdurrahman Tutdere.
As TUT.AZ reports, citing Turkish media, all the detained mayors are members of the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP).
As part of the same operation, 12 more municipal employees were detained.
According to an official statement from the Istanbul prosecutor's office, the officials are accused of abuse of power and participation in illegal financial schemes.
