Thousands of Spaniards took to the streets in a large-scale protest against mass tourism
As reported by TUT.AZ with reference to Catalan News, residents of popular tourist destinations in Spain expressed their dissatisfaction with the influx of foreign visitors.
A large-scale anti-tourism demonstration swept through Barcelona and other tourist-favorite cities on June 15, including Lisbon, Ibiza, and Palma. Protesters accused foreign tourists of causing the housing crisis and engaging in inappropriate behavior. Participants chanted the slogan "Tourism steals our bread, homes, and future."
According to official police data, about 600 people participated in the demonstration. However, the protest organizers claim that around 3 thousand dissatisfied citizens took to the streets.
