Magnetic storm on Earth has reached the penultimate level of intensity

Powerful magnetic storm hit Earth and may reach maximum strength

As reported by TUT.AZ, the head of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sergey Bogachev, informed RIA Novosti about the critical geomagnetic situation on our planet.

According to the Russian scientist, this morning Earth was hit by a powerful plasma cloud ejected by the Sun as a result of yesterday's flare. The expert emphasizes that the characteristics of the plasma cloud enveloping our planet remain at an extremely high level.

The astronomer issued a concerning forecast: if the parameters of the solar plasma do not begin to rapidly decrease, the intensity of the magnetic storm will almost inevitably reach the highest, fifth level on the international scale.
